Physician Details

The doctor is a boardcertified ophthalmologist who has performed over 35,000 refractive procedures and is specially trained in cornea and external diseases of the eye. After receiving his Bachelors of Arts degree in Biochemistry at Columbia College, he received his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School, Texas. The doctor then returned to Manhattan and interned at New York Hospital/Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. He completed his ophthalmic residency training at New York Eye and Ear, the nations first eye specialty hospital, located in the heart of New York City. His interest in refractive surgery and corneal topography led him to pursue a prestigious fellowship in refractive surgery in HotelDieu, Paris, one of the leading eye hospitals in France. Following his fellowship in Paris, he completed another refractive surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School where he continued to investigate surgical therapies for refractive errors. He is currently an assistant clinical professor at New York Eye and Ear and the Surgeon Director of Cataract and Refractive Surgery at SUNY College of Optometry. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a member of the Academy of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has been a member of the Medical Scientific Advisory Board of the New York Eye Bank for over 10 years.
