He attended Brown University Medical School and went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Doheny Eye Institute at the University of Southern California. He later completed a fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. The doctor was also the former Director of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service at the University of Chicago.
